Summer Meeting Brings Growers Together at Weir Tree Farm
The New Hampshire-Vermont Christmas Tree Association welcomed approximately 80 Christmas tree growers and industry professionals to its Summer Member Meeting on Saturday, June 27, at the scenic Weir Tree Farms in Colebrook, New Hampshire.
The day began with a warm welcome from the Weir family, who shared the rich history of their farm and the story of four generations of the Weir family growing Christmas trees. Members then enjoyed a guided tour of the farm, gaining insight into the family's commitment to producing quality trees and the evolution of their operation through the years.
The meeting featured a full day of educational workshops and field demonstrations covering many of today's most important topics for Christmas tree growers.
Presenters shared the latest research, practical growing techniques, and safety recommendations to help growers improve tree quality and manage their farms successfully.
One of the highlights of the day was the field tour through the Weirs' nursery and production fields, where attendees examined trees at various stages of growth and discussed real-world growing practices directly in the field.
The hands-on format gave growers the opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas, and learn from both presenters and fellow members.
In addition to the educational program, the meeting provided valuable time for networking as growers from across New Hampshire and Vermont shared experiences, challenges, and successes with one another.
